The Moko

I am always fascinated with Maori culture. Its art represents a traditional touch, but yet also a sophisticated and futuristic design. The details of Maori art intrigue me. I felt the unique pattern of Maori art became a thread that channels the life between past and present times. Another thing that astonishes me about the Maori is that they were partly Indonesian descendent. The theory says that they originated in china, travelled via taiwan, the philipines to Indonesia, then to Fiji and finally to Aotearoa (New Zealand). Well I hope that they don't mind that I slightly modified their Moko (Full-faced tattoos) in my drawing. Hei konei ra!!
